WILDCAT @ TOTALLY SCOOTERS

WILDCAT was originally started by Les Rafferty and Ian Newman in the late 60’s as the tuning side of the established scooter shop "Rafferty Newman". The heyday for WILDCAT was in the 1970’s, during which Les Rafferty pioneered many new developments in scooter racing and road going tuning. Notable developments include; 5 ported barrels, ‘Dykes’ piston conversions, ‘Wal Phillips’ fuel injectors, Lumenition conversions and original dealer specials. Unfortunately such work ended with the untimely death of Les Rafferty in 1977.

Ian Newman continued to run the shop and offer WILDCAT parts and conversions. However these parts were increasingly supplied by other manufacturers and/or were simply "badge engineering".

In 1996, Ian Newman sold all remaining scooter spares and all rights to the WILDCAT mark/logo to Totally Scooters. Unfortunately there were hardly any original WILDCAT spares or literature left. However the name WILDCAT still holds a special place in British Scooter history and consequently Totally Scooters is proud to have kept the name alive.

Of course original WILDCAT dealer specials and spare parts are now hard to find and are extremely collectable. I am always interested in hearing about anything to do with WILDCAT.

WILDCAT is an unregistered trade mark which has been in continuous use since the late 60's. Totally Scooters owns the exclusive rights and copyright to the WILDCAT name and logo. Anyone wishing to use it should seek prior permission from myself.
